Information documents on the Lobbying Act

The Internet public application for the Lobbyists Registration System (LRS) was created as a result of the new Lobbyists Registration Act which came into force on January 31, 1996. Prior to this, registrations were done manually.

This site was developed by the Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying of Canada in order to allow lobbyists to register as required by the federal legislation and to enable the Canadian public to search the Registry of Lobbyists easily. It also contains information related to the Act, the Regulation and the Lobbyists' Code of Conduct.

We hope that you will find this site useful. As we constantly try to improve the quality of our services, we invite you to contact the Office should you have any comments or suggestions to make regarding this site.

The Web site of the Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying of Canada offers information relating to the Lobbyists Registration Act, the Lobbyists Registration Regulations and the Lobbyists' Code of Conduct. The Web site also hosts the Lobbyists Registration System, which lobbyists utilise to register and disclose the information required by the Act concerning the lobbying activities they conduct at the federal level. This information is publicly available, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, through the federal Registry of Lobbyists, also available on this Web site.
