The Lobbying Act and its related Regulations came into force on July 2, 2008. In order to help lobbyists, registrants, public office holders and the public familiarize themselves with the Act, the Office has a backgrounder on the requirements of the Lobbying Act and the Lobbyists' Code of Conduct and PowerPoint presentations to help Designated Public Office Holders, Consultant lobbyists and In-house lobbyists (corporations and organizations) familiarize themselves with the reporting requirements under the Lobbying Act.

The lobbyists' Guide to Registration, contains detailed information about the current registration process. It explains the registration requirements under the current Act. For additional information, the full text of the Lobbyists' Code of Conduct (the Code), as well as annual reports on the Act and the Code tabled in Parliament are available for consultation.
