This site was developed to enable lobbyists to register as required under the federal Lobbying Act and the related regulations, to allow members of the public to carry out searches of the Registry of Lobbyists and to provide information about the system for registration of individuals who are paid to carry out lobbying activities involving the Government of Canada.
From this web site, you may consult the Registry of Lobbyists or register as a lobbyist using the Lobbyists Registration System (LRS). The LRS has been upgraded so that it is easier to use and more efficient and to take into account new requirements that lobbyists must meet under the Lobbying Act in submitting required returns.
The coming into force of the Lobbying Act on July 2, 2008, has meant a number of changes to the reporting requirements for registered lobbyists. Information about the changes may be found on this site.
Individuals may carry out searches of the Registry and compile reports based on the information it contains.
The site contains information about the Lobbying Act and the related Designated Public Office Holder Regulations and Lobbyists Registration Regulations. The Lobbyists' Code of Conduct may also be found here. The site presents material to assist with registration, such as Guides to Registration, Frequently Asked Questions, Implementation Notices, PowerPoint presentations, and information related to interpretation of the act and regulations by the Office, such as Interpretation Bulletins and Advisory Opinions.
We hope that you will find this site useful. We are continually making improvements to the services the Office provides. Should you have any comments or suggestions regarding this site, we invite you to contact the Office at the address below.
